The terms for using this site.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and ODUEX, a one-person consultancy run by me, Daniel. Where they say “I”, that is me. Where they say “the site”, that is oduex.co.uk and everything published on it.

Using the site means you accept them, and that is the whole of what accepting means here: no account, no signature, no box to tick. If you do not accept them, the sensible thing is to close the tab.

2. What this site is, and is not

It is a description of the work I do and examples of work I have done. It exists so you can decide whether a conversation with me is worth twenty minutes.

It is not an offer that can be accepted. Nothing on this site is a quote and nothing on it commits me to a piece of work. Every build is scoped and priced individually, because it depends on what your workflow actually needs. The discovery call is where that gets nailed down, and you get a fixed written price before any work starts.

It is not professional advice. What you read here is general: how systems tend to break, and what tends to fix them. It is not legal, financial, tax or regulatory advice about your business and it takes no account of your circumstances. If a decision matters, take advice from someone qualified to give it on your specific situation.

3. How I label the work I show

This is the clause most consultancy sites would rather not write, so it gets its own heading. Three labels exist on this site and there is no fourth.

Live client project

Used for exactly one thing here: Cutting Edge Hair Salon. A real client, a real live site, shown with their permission. Nothing else carries that label and nothing else will unless it is equally true.

Demo build

Every project on an oduex.workers.dev address. I built these myself to show a standard of work. They were not commissioned, no business named on them is a client, and nobody has paid me for them. The label sits at the top of the card at the same weight as the title, not in small grey italics underneath it.

System: in production

Automation and internal-tool work, marked according to whether it is running inside a business today or was built to demonstrate what is possible. Where it is the latter it says “capability demo”, in the same place, at the same size.

There is no testimonial on this site that somebody did not actually say, and no number presented as a result that I cannot stand behind. If you ever find something here reading as more than it is, tell me and I will change it rather than defend it.

4. The tools I give away

Two things on this site cost you nothing. Both are real, and neither is a sales letter in disguise.

The operations teardown

A written map of where I think work and leads leak out of your process, based on what you tell me about it. I write it properly and I send it whether or not there is a job in it. It is still an opinion formed from a short description of your business rather than a survey of it, so treat it as a starting point for a conversation and not as a specification.

Ask ODUEX

The assistant is software. It is a language model with a description of my work behind it, and it will sometimes get things wrong. It is not me. It cannot agree a scope, a price or a date, it does not commit me to anything, and nothing it says overrides these terms or anything I have written to you directly. Anything that matters, I confirm myself.

Both are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind. Do not put confidential information into either one. If something needs to stay private, send it to me directly, and read the privacy policy for what happens to it.

5. Who owns what is on here

The words, the code, the design, the diagrams, the ODUEX name and the mark are mine, or used with permission. Screenshots of client work are published with that client’s permission and remain theirs.

You may read it, print it, link to it and quote a short passage with a credit and a link back. You may not republish the pages, pass the content off as yours, sell it, or scrape the site to build a product on it. Reasonable people know where that line sits; if you are unsure, ask me and I will almost certainly say yes.

If you think something published here infringes your rights, email me and I will look at it the same day.

6. What you agree not to do

• Do not attack the site, the forms or the API, and do not try to work around the rate limits.
• Do not submit anyone else’s personal details unless you have a proper reason to.
• Do not use the forms or the assistant to sell to me. They reach a real inbox and they are there for people with something to fix.
• Do not use anything here to do something unlawful.

I can block access if any of that happens. There is no appeals process, but there is my email address, and I read it.

7. Links to other sites

Some links go elsewhere: a client’s site, a regulator, a tool I have named. I do not control those, I am not responsible for what is on them, and I am not responsible for what they do with your data once you arrive. A link is not an endorsement of everything at the other end of it.

8. Availability

I do my best to keep the site up, quick and correct. I do not promise it will always be available, always be current or always be free of errors. Pages get rewritten, examples get swapped out and features come and go without notice.

If the site is down at the moment you need me, email and WhatsApp still work.

9. Where responsibility ends

I am responsible for what I actually get wrong. I am not responsible for a decision you take about your business on the strength of something general you read on a marketing site.

So, as far as the law allows: I am not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, lost opportunity or business interruption arising out of your use of this site or of the tools in clause 4. That limit covers the site and the tools. It does not cover work you pay me for, which is governed by the agreement we sign and carries its own terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are dealing with me as a consumer rather than in the course of a business, nothing here affects your statutory rights.

10. If we start working together

These terms cover the site. They do not cover the work.

Paid work runs on a separate written agreement covering scope, price, timescale, what you own at the end and what happens if either of us wants to stop. You own the code, the accounts and the workflows. Where that agreement and this page disagree about a project, that agreement wins.

11. Changes to these terms

When these change, the version and date at the top change with them. The version published at the time you use the site is the one that applies. I do not backdate them and I do not edit them quietly.

12. Law and courts

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in.
